Mom is a distance runner, like crazy distance. She ran a marathon a couple months ago. That's 26.2 miles. She ran for four hours straight. CRAZY! Anyway, I don't get to run with her because I get distracted and end up with bloody paws. The longest run I've ever been on was 2 miles and the pavement wore a hole in one of my pads. Mom also thinks it's frustrating when I stop to smell things and pee on them. I've got to read the news and mark my space. The world is my space and I like to mark it every 10-15 feet. Don't judge, so what if I'm a little territorial. Anyway, between my "laziness," "easily distracted nature,"
and "delicate feet," mom doesn't take me running much. Don't get me wrong, I love to run, AFTER I've smelled everything.
When mom came home yesterday she said I was too bouncy. I like it when she says I'm too bouncy because it means something fun is coming. She didn't want to go for a walk because she said she needed exercise too, so we went to the park and mom did sprints. She doesn't like sprints. She says anything under a 5K isn't worth running. Oh well, I like sprints. It means you run really fast and then stop to smell everything and have hugs. I think sprints are pretty awesome.
I was having so much fun I didn't even notice when I broke one of my back toe nails. When mom saw the blood all over my foot she said we had to go home. I didn't understand why. When we got home, she fed me and then the cat. Then she noticed that I was leaving bloody footprints. Mom went and got a sock and put it on my foot. The linoleum in the kitchen is already a little slippery, but with that sock, oh man was it scary. My foot kept trying to slide away from me. Then the sock kept falling off, and mom had to keep putting it on, which I didn't like at all. I tried laying on my foot, but mom made me get up. Finally she put a rubber and on my leg to keep the sock up. At least then she stopped messing with it. Before bed she took the sock off. I didn't let her look at my foot much, but she got most of the blood off and said it didn't look too bad. She said we need to clip my other nails though. I don't like that one bit. Hopefully we go do more sprints soon!
